KIng of the Jungle defends self from Jealous Lioness

Male Lion gets a royal smack down for daring to flirt in front of his partner.

This hilarious stand down was captured  by a tourist Leon Botha on vacation with his friends and family at  Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in Kgalagadi Two lions  (partners) walked towards the waterhole water hole for a drink, when a 'single female approached the male lion.
 Tables turned: As it transpired the lioness was not heading to attack the other female, and instead began swatting her male partner

... King lion goes on defense
 Reacting angrily, the lioness ran at the two predators, prompting the male to intercept what seemed like an inevitable fight. Only problem is he Mr Lion (wandering eye) was the target of her anger

Fighting back: The mouth of the lioness is wide open as she tackles her partner in the air as he attempts to stand up to her in the fight

The female attacked her partner instead, swatting him with her paw and knocking him to the ground

 Dominated: The lion is tackled to the ground by the female as the love interest, who appears to have got off lightly, looks on stunned

The flirty males been have been known to sustain serious injury from their jealous partners in similar situations. Some have even had their tongues ripped during jealous fits. See picture below
