Laura Gottwald, 70, rushes to her son's defense saying her son Dr. Luke - real name Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald - is innocent
Dr. Luke, 42, is from wealthy family and his mother is an interior designer in Manhattan
He has been accused by Kesha, his pop star protégé of drugging and raping her shortly after she turned 18
Kesha tried to part company with Sony, the label to whom she is signed, and cited the tape claims in her case - which she lost
Her claims have caused outcry with support from Sony's biggest artist Adele this week

Dr. Luke's mother has claimed her son's protégé Kesha's claims of rape are 'lies' intended to 'blackmail' him.
A family member of the 42-year-old record producer, born Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald, spoke for the first time to Daily Mail Online after a court ruled against Kesha's bid to get out of her contract with him.
Kesha filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke in October 2014 alleging he had drugged her with a 'sober pill' and raped her shortly after her 18th birthday in California and threatened to take away her publishing rights.
Now, the record producer's mother, Laura Gottwald, has rushed to her son's defense.
Dr Luke denies he ever drugged or raped singer Kesha, but she maintains he did as well as making her live 'in a prison of abuse' for years since she was 18 years old

She told Daily Mail Online: 'She's blackmailing him. She threatened to do it and she did it.
'It's all lies.'
Gottwald said she didn't know the details of and alleged threats made by Kesha or when the singer had made them. Kesha says that she is telling the truth and simply wants to be freed from her recording contract.
Dr Luke has denied the allegations. In a series of tweets, he said: 'I didn't rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister.'
The producer pointed to the fact that he has three sisters, a daughter and a son with his girlfriend, and a feminist mother who 'raised me right,' he said, in a bid to bolster his claims of innocence.

Laura Gottwald, 70, runs a high-end interior design company from a penthouse studio in Manhattan.
Her projects have included remodels of Tribeca lofts, Upper East Side townhouses and the lobby at The Hotel Algonquin in New York.
Dr Luke's father, Janusz Jerzy Gottwald, passed away in 2010 at the age of 66.
Born in Lask, Poland, he immigrated to New York as a young boy. He met Laura Gottwald while he was studying at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Janusz Gottwald was a successful architect with a practice in Manhattan.
Dr Luke's mother defense of her son came as some of the world's leading female artists publicly supported Kesha.
Adele, arguably Sony's biggest star, used her victory speech after winning Best British Female Solo Artist at the Brit Awards this week to voice her support for Kesha. After thanking Sony for supporting her, Adele said: 'And I would like to take this moment to publicly support Kesha.'
Taylor Swift cut a check for $250,000 to help with legal costs that have drained Kesha's reserves.
Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Fiona Apple and Ariana Grande have all voiced their support for the singer-songwriter while thousands of fans have posted messages on social media using the #FreeKesha tag.
Kesha, who was born Kesha Rose Sebert, broke down in a Manhattan court last Friday after a judge denied her an injunction that would have allowed her to record new music outside of her record label and without working with Dr. Luke.

In a letter to fans on Wednesday, Kesha wrote: 'All I ever wanted was to be able to make music without being afraid, scared, or abused. This case has never been about a renegotiation of my record contract – it was never about getting a bigger, or a better deal.
'This is about being free from my abuser. I would be willing to work with Sony if they do the right thing and break all ties that bind me to my abuser.'
Following the court ruling, Sony made a statement saying that they do not have the authority to release Kesha from her agreement because she is signed with Dr. Luke's company, Kasz Money.
Through that company she is signed with a subsidiary of Sony, Kemosabe Records - which is also owned by Dr. Luke.
'Sony has made it possible for Kesha to record without any connection, involvement or interaction with Luke whatsoever, but Sony is not in a position to terminate the contractual relationship between Luke and Kesha,' Scott A. Edelman, a lawyer for the company, told The New York Times on Wednesday.
'Sony is doing everything it can to support the artist in these circumstances, but is legally unable to terminate the contract to which it is not a party.'
Only Dr. Luke has the power to terminate her contract.
Kesha fans had planned a protest on Friday morning outside Sony's Madison Avenue offices.
Dr. Luke's attorney, Christine Lepera, described Kesha's claims as 'outright lies' and accused the singer and her legal team of conducting 'trial by Twitter, using a vicious smear campaign to ruin his reputation.'
The shocking details of Kesha's claims were revealed in the court documents filed in October 2014, seen exclusively by Daily Mail Online.
She 'lived in a prison of abuse,' and suffered a psychological and physical fallout so severe as to be described as 'life-threatening' and requiring the singer to check into rehab.
Dr. Luke counter-sued Kesha in the same month she filed her suit.
He described her bid to void the contract between them as tantamount to extortion and branding her allegations as 'false and shocking'.
Earlier this week, a 2011 video emerged showing the pop star saying under oath that producer Dr. Luke never drugged her or made 'sexual advances.'
Kesha cancelled a gig at Loyola University Chicago on Saturday for 'personal reasons'.
'Kesha has expressed her disappointment in having to cancel,' the college's Department of Programming wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
'But she feels that this is the best decision for her at this time.'
