Human hair is popular for it's strength and texture and is used for hair extensions and wigs. Brazilian, Peruvian, Malaysian and Indian hair rank high on the list as the go to hair for extensions and wigs.
In Brazil, this has lead to the frequent kidnapping of women to steal hair off their heads, which is then shipped to manufacturers for production destined for foreign countries like the USA and beyond. Those who resist are manhandled and sometimes killed for their own hair.
Next time you buy weave remember, someone probably died defending her crown
