...lightning strikes the Trump Tower same night he wins super Tuesday mmmmh.
...calamity Trump?
Donald Trump claimed victory in Illinois Tuesday night at around the same time Mother Nature wreaked havoc on the Windy City.
Social
media users posted photos as severe weather hit Chicago and nearby
areas, with even tornadoes touching down in some parts of the state.
Then, to cap things off, lightning struck the Trump Tower.
End of days: This all occurred around
the same time Donald Trump (above on Tuesday night) was declared the
winner of the Illinois primary
By
the end of the day, at least ten tornadoes had been reported in Illinois
along with more than 60 instances of hail storms, according to the
National Weather Service.
Some pieces of hail were the size of golf balls.
Wind gusts meanwhile reached as high as 60mph according to The Weather Network.
Storms
were reported in Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and Missouri, too - where
Trump also claimed victory in Tuesday night's primary.
The
Republican front-runner then created a storm of his own on Wednesday
morning when he announced he would not participate in the next
Republican debate, which was due to be hosted by FOX News and moderated
by Megyn Kelly.
There are now reports that as a result of this, the debate has been cancelled.
Scary: Hail storms were reported
throughout the area and at least 10 tornadoes touched down (pictured is a
tornado on the Ohio and Illinois border)
Mother nature: Winds reached as high
as 60mph in some parts of Illinois. A picture of this tornado near
Bushnell was shared on Twitter
Trump
is the only candidate with a path to clinching the Republican
nomination for president before the party's national convention in July,
according to an analysis of the delegate math.
In addition to Illinois and Missouri on Tuesday, he also claimed victory in North Carolina and Florida.
The fifth state of the night, Ohio, went to current governor John Kasich.
On the Democrat side, Hillary Clinton claimed victory in all five states.
