Vampire Behavior -Chelsea striker Diego Costa 'insists he did NOT bite Gareth Barry' in fiery FA Cup defeat to Everton

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has insisted he did NOT bite Gareth Barry in a statement issued by a club spokesman.

The striker was at the heart of the action throughout Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final defeat and was sent off in the final minutes after tangling with Barry.
Costa, who had already been booked, reacted to a foul by the Toffees veteran, jumping to his feet and pushing his head into his opponent.
He then appeared to open his mouth and move towards Barry's neck, prompting many on social media to claim that he had bitten the midfielder.
Barry's reaction suggested that was not the case, but that did not prevent referee Michael Oliver brandishing a second yellow card to Costa.

A club spokesman said: "Diego spoke to club officials after the game and expressed regret over his reaction to the challenge from Gareth Barry that led to his red card.

"But Diego was also very clear that he did not bite him at any point during that altercation

Speaking after the game, Roberto Martinez discussed Barry's version of events with the midfielder also seeing red for a second yellow late on.
"Gareth Barry said 'It's nothing to be worried about, I'm just disappointed to get a second yellow card'," claimed the Everton boss.
"It is a game full of emotions and there were two sending-offs, the referee played a very good game."

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink also discussed the incident post-match.

"I haven't seen it on TV - and then I will give a fair comment. Everton were going after him all game," he said.

"There are movies about [anger management]. With Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler. Maybe we will go and watch it together."

Romelu Lukaku struck twice against his former club to send Everton into the FA Cup semi-finals.
The Belgian opened the scoring with a fine solo goal before firing past Thibaut Courtois late on.
